I have longed to paint for many years, since a child. While I have not had to wait as long as Grandma Moses to actually create art, I have made use of the time while waiting. I have admired art in museums, in galleries and on art walks in places where I have lived or visited. I have taken classes in drawing and painting and spent some time with watercolors and oils. I am excited to find collage where I use fabrics, imported papers, acrylics and sometimes jewels. I may be a frustrated decorator! I am surprised at what arises in a painting and that these creations come from me, but not just me. I sometimes feel I have hooked up to a creative grid. Or there is some place within that is open to receive divine gifts. Some paintings are figurative, some expressionistic, some are partially abstract always with the underlying intent of creating beauty and hopefully inspiring or touching the viewer.
